Program Overview
The ANZSOG Academic Fellows Program is a prestigious initiative that brings together scholars and public sector leaders to advance research and practice in public governance, policy, and leadership. The 2026 round offers two fellowship streams:
- Resident Academic Fellowships – for scholars from ANZSOG Partner Universities
- Visiting Academic Fellowships – for academics from other Australian, New Zealand, or international institutions
This program is part of ANZSOG’s 2030 Strategy to strengthen academic networks and transform governance across Australasia.
Fellowship Benefits
Resident Fellows receive:
- Funding via a buyout model to reduce teaching load
- Part-time secondment to ANZSOG

Visiting Fellows receive:
- Travel and accommodation support for a 1–3 month visit
- Workspace and institutional access

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to academics from any discipline with a focus on public governance, leadership, or policy
- Resident Fellowships: Must be affiliated with an ANZSOG Partner University
- Visiting Fellowships: Open to scholars from non-partner universities, including international institutions
- Ideal for academics on sabbatical, special study leave, or research mobility programs
