The Human Rights Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for students pursuing graduate research in the field of human rights. Financial Coverage

Recipients will receive up to AUD $94,200 in total benefits, including:

    • Living allowance: AUD $43,500/year (2025 rate), pro rata
    • Full tuition fee offset:
      • Up to 2 years for Master by Research
      • Up to 4 years for Doctoral degree
    • Relocation grant:
      • AUD $2,000 (from other Australian states)
      • AUD $3,000 (from outside Australia)
    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): For international students

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

    • Apply for and meet entry requirements for a Master by Research or PhD at the University of Melbourne
    • Intend to conduct graduate research in human rights
    • Not have completed a research degree at the same or higher level
    • Not have previously received a graduate research scholarship
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to human rights, including through voluntary or professional work
