The University of Milan has announced 160 fully funded scholarships for international master's students for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This initiative, as stated by the university, is part of its strategy to attract students globally. The University of Milan is offering Excellence Scholarships to support international students. These scholarships are available to those enrolling in the university's master's programs.The scholarships provide financial support to international students pursuing master's degree programs.

"In line with its internationalization strategies to increase incoming mobility and attractiveness to foreign students, the University of Milan offers international students the opportunity for scholarships and tuition fee exemptions," - the university stated.

Scholarship Categories and Financial Support

The scholarships are divided into two categories:

1. The first category includes 60 scholarships, each providing €8,000 in funding along with full tuition fee exemptions. The scholarship amount is subject to Italian tax law.
2. The second category comprises 100 scholarships, offering full exemption from the university's tuition fees but no additional financial support.

Eligibility Requirements

The scholarships are available to international students who:

• Hold a foreign academic qualification.
• Have been admitted to a master's degree program or the International Medical School single-cycle master's program at the University of Milan.
• Meet merit-based criteria, which include academic performance, the curriculum vitae submitted during admission, and progress during the first year of the master's program.

Application Process

To apply for these scholarships, candidates must apply for admission to a master's program at the University of Milan by May 31st, 2025. There is no separate application for the scholarships; eligible candidates will be automatically considered.

Selected candidates will be informed via email about their scholarship award in July 2025.
